--- Peking möchte mit aller Macht verhindern, dass die Uno sich in Menschenrechtsangelegenheiten in China einmischt: A day after the Bush administration sought a U.N. resolution condemning China's human rights practices, the Chinese government announced Tuesday that it had suspended human rights dialogues with the United States and accused Washington of provoking confrontation. "The United States should bear all the consequences that might arise from this," Deputy Foreign Minister Shen Guofang told U.S. Ambassador Clark T. Randt Jr., according to a Foreign Ministry statement. "The United States' insistence on provoking confrontation has seriously damaged the foundation of our two countries' human rights dialogue and exchange," Shen was quoted as saying.
